My Story
Hello. I’m Chris
I have worked in education now since 2010, qualifying as a teacher in 2011.
I have an undergraduate degree in music and religious studies and a PGCE in Secondary Music
with QTS.

Having worked in education in various sectors for the past 14 years, I have had the privilege of
guiding thousands of students through their exams. I have been privileged to be part of several
thriving performing arts faculties over this time and enjoyed being a head of music in a school
with 1200 students on roll.
I take a very practical approach to teaching both Music and Drama, believing that the theoretical
aspects of both subjects should be taught through practical means.
I have a 100% success rate with GCSE Music, GCSE Drama and IB Music as well as a 90%
success rate with A-level Music. I have also taught BTEC Performing Arts and BTEC Level 2
Music. I have a 100% success rate in ABRSM theory and practical exams.
I am happy to take performance and composition students through to A level or BTEC level 3,
and theory students to degree level.
As a performer, I am a classically trained singer and a church organist. I have accompanied
national events and had the honour to be part of a choir accompanying “Florence and the
Machine” at the BBC Radio 1 big weekend 2010.
As an actor, I have played Mr Collins (Pride and Prejudice), Banquot (Macbeth), Rumpole of
the Bailey (in a Rumpole adaptation).
